Creating Media Plans

Overview

A media plan contains all the line items an advertiser may purchase for a given campaign. It is also linked to a salesperson, and includes the status of the media plan, its percentage of likelihood to close, and start/end dates.

Create a New Media Plan

To create a new media plan:

  1. Navigate to the Sales tab in the Kevel interface, and click the "Set up a New Media Plan" button in the upper right.
  2. In the modal that appears, select the advertiser of the plan. Or, select to create a new advertiser.
  3. Enter the advertiser name, the plan name, the associated salesperson, the status, and the percentage likely to be booked.

Your media plan is now created. You will be redirected to the settings page for your media plan. On this page, you can:

  • Edit the media plan settings you entered upon creation.
  • Duplicate the media plan. Click the "Duplicate Media Plan" button.
  • Add a comment to the media plan. Click the "Comments" tab.
  • Add a line item. You must include line items before converting a media plan into a campaign. Otherwise, the campaign will not serve any creatives.

Creating a Line Item

To create a line item:

  1. Click the "Add a Line Item" button.
  2. Enter the name of the line item, and insert any settings and creatives that are present with the insertion order. If you don't have these yet, that's okay. You can edit the line item later when the advertiser makes these available.
  3. The line item page uses the same settings as a Kevel flight. If you need help setting this up, you can refer to the Flights article.
  4. When you are finished adding the line item, click the "Save This Line Item" button at the bottom of the page.
  5. You can add additional line items by clicking the "Add a Line Item" button again on the media plan page.

Duplicating Line Items

To duplicate a line item:

  1. Navigate to the settings page of the line item's media plan.
  2. Hover over the Tools icon next to a line item's name. Click "Duplicate Line Item".

Exporting Media Plans

You can export media plan details to a CSV:

  1. Hover over the Tools icon next to a media plan's name. Click "Export Media Plan".
  2. A CSV will download that contains a list of line items and their settings.
